Macor disc

Machinable ceramics, also known as glass-ceramics, are mica microcrystalline glass with synthetic mica as the main crystal phase. They can be processed with tools and instruments used for metalworking to achieve precise dimensions. This material has good machinability, vacuum performance, electrical insulation properties, and excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical corrosion.

Machinable glass ceramic can be processed with ordinary metalworking tools; allows for quick delivery, no post-firing required.

The dimensional accuracy can reach ±0.013mm, with a polished surface finish of Ra0.013μm, suitable for vacuum, high temperature, high pressure insulation, lab, semiconductor, medical, and aerospace precision component processing.

Supports on-demand cutting and CNC precision machining customization; can continuously withstand 800℃ and short-term peaks of 1000℃ without deforming or creeping; features ultra-high insulation, low thermal conductivity, low outgassing, and a thermal expansion coefficient that matches metals.

Machinable ceramics are an excellent high-temperature electrical insulating material, with a dielectric breakdown strength of up to 40KV/A per millimeter, and they can be used in many electrical devices.

Application of ultra-low vacuum outgassing rate:

Machinable ceramics are baked at 180°C, held at 160°C for 1 hour, and placed in a vacuum furnace for 8 hours. The outgassing rate is extremely low, only 8.8×10-9ml/s·cm², so they are widely used as support components inside vacuum chambers of various vacuum devices.

Typical applications: Vacuum equipment, support components for vacuum coating in the photovoltaic industry.

Applications of Electromagnetic Properties:

Machinable ceramics have excellent electromagnetic properties.
Typical application: gyroscope coil frames for missiles.

Applications of Other Properties:

Machinable ceramics have excellent self-lubricating properties, and without any metal particles, they are self-lubricating like graphite. They are one-third the weight of regular steel, even lighter than aluminum, and have an extremely low water absorption rate.
